Jay-Z maakte enkele jaren geleden één van de beste hip-hop-albums allertijden met “The Blueprint”. De man achter de knoppen was de toen nog onbekende en groen-achter-zijn-oren Kanye West. Na het middelmatige “The Blueprint 2 : The Gift & The Curse”, komt het duo terug in actie met “The Blueprint 3”. Vorige week lekte reeds een nieuw samenwerkingetje tussen beide heren op de internets. “History” gebruikt een leuke retro-sample en enkele prachtige rhymes.

M.I.A. en Blaqstarr doen van covergem. “Way Down The Hole” van Tom Waits, ook gekend als de titelsong van het prachtige The Wire:

Ah, Donna bestaat nog ofwa?

Blijkbaar gaan ze bij de VRT de hitzender Donna opdoeken, en zogezegd een nieuwe hitzender uit de grond stampen met Peter van de Veire aan het roer. Net zoals Dominiek lijkt dat mij één grote hoop stierenstront. Een promotiestunt, zoals ze er aan de Medialaan 1 al zo veel gedaan hebben. Het probleem is dat Q-Music in zo’n stunt zou slagen, en die van Donna niet.

Maar nu we er toch over bezig zijn, waarom kan er in België niet eens serieus nagedacht worden over een radio in de aard van BBC Radio 1? Oké, bij Studio Brussel en/of Radio 1 zijn ze er relatief dicht bij, maar toch nog niet helemaal.

AC/DC

Ze zijn terug, de mannen van AC/DC. Na acht jaar van afwezigheid komt de 53-jarige Angus Young (oh ironie!) met zijn oudere broer Malcolm en oudere vriendjes Brian, Phil en Cliff aangestormd met de Rock’n’Roll Train, of dat is althans de naam van de single die vanaf morgen op de radiogolven te bespeuren zal zijn.

Op 18 oktober komt dan hun nieuwe album Black Ice uit, met tracks als She Likes Rock’n’Roll en War Machine. Eind oktober beginnen ze opnieuw terug te touren.

Of de plaatselijke boerinnenbond hun jaarlijkse uitstap naar Scherpenheuvel gaat veranderen naar een concert-tripje is nog niet duidelijk, toch liet Jacques-de-schoenmaker al weten zéér trots te zijn op zijn generatiegenoten.
